Dr. Khalil Ammar is Principal Scientist in Hydrology/Hydrogeology at ICBA. He joined the Center in 2009. Before joining ICBA, he had worked at CH2M Hill in the USA and with the Palestinian Water Authority where he headed the Planning Department for seven years.
During his career spanning over 20 years, he has led several key research efforts such as preparing a Water Conservation Strategy for the United Arab Emirates, the Brine Discharge Guidelines for the United Arab Emirates, and Improving Agricultural Production for the United Arab Emirates. He also led an effort on preparing a strategy to combat salinity in the Sultanate of Oman.
He holds a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering/Water Resources Management from Utah State University. He has published more than 18 research publications in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and conference proceedings.
