Farmer field schools form an integral part of ICBA's capacity development efforts. Farmer field schools provide space for hands-on group learning, enhancing skills for observation, critical analysis, and decision-making in rural communities. They adopt a participatory approach to knowledge dissemination and effectively engage and support the learning needs of extension specialists, farmers, and rural households.
ICBA conducts farmer field schools under most of its projects in different countries to transfer knowledge and technology. Over the years, the center has developed the capacities of farmers in different parts of the world in best practices in seed production, crop, land, and irrigation management, among other things.
