Dr. Hassan M. Abdelbaki joined ICBA in August 2023 as Post-Doctoral Research Fellow – Irrigation and Water Management.
He has over 12 years of expertise in applying innovative technologies for water conservation in agriculture. His research interests focus on assessing the crop water requirements under different irrigation and farming methods, coding and assessing the simulation modellings of water, solute, and heat movement in soils, managing irrigation and drainage water resources, as well as designing and managing automatic irrigation systems, among other things.
Before joining ICBA, he had worked and cooperated with several international and national organizations such as the Japan International Cooperation Agency, the National Water Resources Center, the Agriculture Research Center of Egypt, the Ministry of Agriculture of Egypt, the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (Morocco), and both the Arid Land Research Center and the International Platform of Dryland Research and Education of Tottori University, Japan.
He holds a PhD in Global Arid Land Science (Irrigation Science) from Tottori University, Japan, an MSc in Agricultural Engineering (Irrigation Science) from Mansoura University, Egypt, and a BSc in Agricultural Engineering from Kafrelsheikh University, Egypt.
