Salicornia (Salicornia bigelovii) germplasm enhancement and homozygous genotype development

Description of Experiments

Germplasm improvement of Salicornia for biomass, plant architecture and seed yield.

Objective:

• To develop Salicornia bigelovii S4 progenies with enhanced homozygosity through a “panicle to row planting method” for genome sequencing 
• Germplasm improvement through bi-parental mating for target traits (high tender biomass; compact plant architecture and high seed yield)
• Genotype involved: ICBA 4; ICBA 5; ICBA 6 and ICBA 10
