Abu Dhabi Water Master Plan |
<Home>
<Check the report>
In November 2007, the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) engaged ICBA to develop a plan for implementing EAD’s environmental priority 1: Improve the quality and quantity of water resources in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in order to achieve sustainable utilization of water resources in a economically and environmentally friendly way that would enhance development. As well EAD wanted to define more clearly EAD’s institutional role in the management and regulation of the different water supplies, their uses and their impact on the Emirates’ environment.
ICBA assembled a team of inhouse and external consultants to draw up the main report, that is supported by the seven technical annexes.

National Strategy to combat salinity and protect water resources from pollution and salinity in Oman |
<Home>
Launched on 2 October 2012 in Oman by Sheikh Fadl bin Mohammed Al Harthy,
Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, this two-year study, managed by
ICBA, indicated that excessive water use, complicated by poor on-farm
management, is the prime cause of salinization of agricultural soils.
The study recommended alternative strategies to improve water use and
monitoring, soil management and agricultural production, strategic options to
reduce seawater intrusion, and tactics to implement solutions across the
Sultanate of Oman.
