Halic Congress Center, Istanbul, Turkey
Tuesday, May 27, 2014 to Thursday, May 29, 2014
The forum will tackle two important subjects: water security and legal aspects of water. Moving from the UN Millennium Development Goals to Sustainable Development Goals, the 3rd Istanbul International Water Forum will address responses to the issues of global water security and discuss the issues of climate change, water-food-energy-ecology nexus, water governance and integrated basin management. The forum will also deal with the legal aspects of water such as right to water and sanitation, national water law, transboundary water cooperation and the legislation on protection of water resources. These issues will be discussed in eight thematic sessions under the main themes: “Water Security” (S-sessions) and “Legal Aspects of Water” (L-sessions). The sessions will be 105 minutes long and consist of a keynote address followed by a moderated panel discussion featuring internationally prominent water experts. After the panel discussions, the audience will have the opportunity to join the debate through Q&As.
