Project: Adaptation to climate change in WANA marginal environments through sustainable crop and livestock diversification

The International Center for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) coordinated the regional project on “Adaptation to climate change in WANA marginal environments through sustainable crop and livestock diversification” from 2010 to 2015. The project was implemented in collaboration with national programs of seven Arab countries (Egypt, Jordan, Oman, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia and Yemen). The project was funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD), with additional support from the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).

As a major outcome of the project, more than 60 scientific papers were produced by scientists and technical staff of the participating countries. Most of these papers will be presented during the symposium in Amman, Jordan.
